Deep-learning could be performed in three varieties

  • supervised
  • unsupervised
  • reinforcement learning

Deep learning in that matter also can be referred to as structured learning since deep learning is used in order to learn various tasks of deep learning neural networks that consist of multiple background or hidden layers.

Today I have bought three books

  1. How to think like a computer scientist: Learning with Python by Allen B. Downey
  2. Core Python Programming by R. Nageswara Rao
  3. Python for Data Science For Dummies by John Paul Mueller and Luca Massaron

I would like to know applications of deep learning models including classifications that are completely supervised and pattern analysis that is entirely unsupervised.

The objective of the question is that answers are to be very short, lucid, and easily intelligible.


If I understand correctly, you're asking for examples of deep learning applications. There are quite a few examples. In fact, that's probably why there's so much hype around deep learning now. To name a few,

  • Supervised: speech processing (like, classifying words from audio), image segmentation, natural language processing, image labeling, and much more
  • Unsupervised: clustering, dimensionality reduction, data generation
  • Reinforcement learning: video games, robot control, ad placement, and much more
