I can find the number of parameters AIs such as GPT3 or OpenAI Five have, but I'm having a difficult time googling the number of parameters a self driving car has because Google searches keeps using the other definition of parameters when google searching. So how many parameters does a self-driving car typically have? I'm curious as to the computer requirements that will be needed to operate a fully functioning self driving car.

$\begingroup$ As far as I know, the "only AI" that is used in self-driving cars (at least, for the Tesla autopilots) are convolutional neural networks. See this article. I suppose they are using these CNNs for processing the images that come from the cameras. So, they are supposedly using some semantic segmentation- or object detection-based NN. In any case, I don't really have an answer to your question, but it would be a good idea if you focus on a specific self-driving car, such Tesla's, and ask about it, given that different self-driving cars may use different techs. $\endgroup$ – nbro Nov 21 '20 at 23:15

$\begingroup$ No, that should not be the case. I am pretty sure that several AI techniques are being used in current self-driving cars. It's possible you will find more details about which AI technologies are being used by the self-driving cars on the websites of the firms that produce them. I will inform myself later and maybe provide a more comprehensive answer. $\endgroup$ – nbro Nov 23 '20 at 0:27
