I am relatively new to the field of AI. I have a problem that I would like to solve with AI, but I don't know which buzzwords I should use to search for solutions.

I have a plantar pressure scan, like the one below (which was taken from Wikipedia)

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pedobarography#/media/File:Example_foot_pressure.png

I want to define and mark the relevant points in this image. For example, I want to put a point in the middle of each toe with the corresponding label, which toe it is, or also the middle of the heel. So, theoretically, I want to train an AI that can do that at some point.

The question is whether such a thing is currently possible with AI? I can find many examples of object recognition on the web (e.g. recognition of a cat, etc.). A few examples I find for the recognition of keypoints by humans (e.g. arms, shoulders, etc.).

In which direction do I have to search? I know that the presented example is not trivial, but I am mainly interested in whether it is theoretically possible. And if so, how something like this can be implemented.
