Q: Find an explicit mapping in the two-dimensional space to transform the linearly nonseparable dataset into a linearly separable one. Show the transformed data points on a plot.

I tried many non linear transformations, but since our lecturer says there exists an explicit mapping possible that separates the non linear dataset into a perfectly separable one, that too in 2 dimensions (no kernel trick). Please help, the assignment is due in 2 days.

  • $\begingroup$ saying 2-dimensional doesn't implies no kernel trick.. you can use it and discard the original 2 dimensions, and only preserve the 2 dimensions created my the kernel $\endgroup$
