I know that this question is very common but i am very confused about where to start?

first let me introduce my self I am php developer and I have 3 years of experience in programming now i want to move my career into AI for that i have also learned basic of Python and also started learning linear algebra.

I have also research many posts to start career in AI but most of posts path are not same like: -In 1 post I have found that i should learn python first, then linear algebra, probability, statistics and then i need to take any course of ML from Udemy or any other study platform.

-In another post I found that math is really no required at beginning phase so i need to jump directly to ML course.

Different people to different views that's common thing I know they all are right for different perspective.

can anyone give a guideline from where I should start because i am a programmer i don't need to learn analytics and all other non programming field.

When I started I knew a little bit linear algebra, probability and calculus but when I started to read research papers I felt lack of knowledge. I recommend you to start with Udacity course or Andrew Ng course on Coursera, and supplement with Standford or MIT online. Search those resources for algebra, calculus, statistics, etc.

  • $\begingroup$ This is good advice, imo. My experience is similar. (There are so many new maths these days!) While it's true you don't necessarily need it for a career in AI, it's never a bad idea to learn as much as possible because it will expand you capabilities and value. $\endgroup$ – DukeZhou Mar 9 '18 at 18:15
